ABOUT US / IN THE NEWSThe CCEA Community Foundation, founded in December 2000, is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization dedicated to providing educational opportunities for teachers and to enhance educational growth for financially disadvantaged students in Clark County. To fund these opportunities, the Community Foundation has entered into partnerships with businesses and organizations throughout Clark County, as well as the financial support of educators who know firsthand the benefits of the offered programs. The Community Foundation proudly sponsors READ TO ME. “Read to me” will promote the love for reading through its family-friendly website and phone service where children can access children’s stories anytime. We encourage teachers to utilize this program and the lessons plans in the classroom. About the Creator and Project Manager of READ TO MEIn 2007 Julia Grambo came up with this creative and fun way to promote reading. She knew it had to be fun in order for kids to “want” to read. It was a natural, living in Las Vegas, to reach out to the talented celebrities, who helped make this youth reading program such a success. A big thank you also goes out to the generous support of our children’s book publishers and authors who have granted rights, making it possible to share these books and the joy of reading to children worldwide. |
